So went to see the Queen / Mercury biopic. Pretty dang good! Not a big fan but enjoyed the backstories. For example, was looking at that Brian May (Ph.D. astrophysics btw, jolly well done) guitar thinking "What the heck is that?" Homebuilt, "the Red Special". Awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TS6bPFoCIkc edit to fix busted link

Been a big fan since 1980 when I saw the movie Flash Gordon. The soundtrack was my first rock music album purchase with my own money haha. Followed by Kiss of course. Brian May is badass... Have yet to see the movie.

I was never a fan of falsetto rock singers.

I don't mind when the singer is technically perfect.

Dude had bigger balls than you I'm sure.

His voice was incredible. It's why scientists have studied it all over the world.

Smokey Robinson, Jimmy Page, Brian Wilson, Tiny Tim... Ok, maybe not Tiny Tim. Nothing wrong with good falsetto imho.

Haha, Tiny Tim.

Mercury was a baritone and used falsetto once in a while. But yeah, lots of rock and metal dabble in the falsetto areas.

Anyway, I hope the movie lives up to my expectations.

It has been pointed out to me that I have GOB (guitar on brain) and meant Bob Plant rather than Jimmy Page above. Of Course! He was that singer fellow, right? My apologies.

The falsetto guy was the drummer, right?

Brian May is an awesome dude even though his playing is not my favorite. More of a classical or prog player. But he had them use prime numbers for the delay values on the We Will Rock You stomp/clap.
