Now if they could just get George Clinton to produce their next album.

John is so good.

I love his sparse, melodic licks like Scar Tissue, Can't Stop and a lot on the By The Way LP.

Me too. I love most of blood sugar sex magic. Lots of by the way. It's going to be very good for the band to reconnect.

Josh Klinghoffer Talks Red Hot Chili Peppers Firing: 'It Truly Felt Like a Death'
"The whole thing has a sadness to it and that's what makes it even weirder," guitarist says of dismissal from band after 10 years

"It sounds cliché, but it really does sound like a romantic breakup.
Oh, yeah, absolutely. The analogy is perfect and it's almost trite how perfect it is. But it's like, you're dating someone; you love them and care about them. Or you tell yourself you love them. But you're also maybe on the same car insurance plan and it just works. And then your sexy ex comes back around and they're no longer in a dark place. And what you had with them and created with them speaks to another time; it speaks to more record sales. [Laughs] It just makes a little more sense. Like you're a little closer in age; even that alone, it's like you can communicate more. Even if in two years their relationships grow sour again, there's something familiar. So yeah, I'm that person that you love and you care about, but I wasn't there in 1988.

Being in a band is a lot like a marriage. I went off and listened to Frusciante solo music. It really is not that good. abstract and no cohension. But, that might of been what he was after and/or heroin influenced. Don't know, but I did give it a try and ran thru his catalog. I can't get over Apple Music and the ability to access every thing at an instant.

I'll be curious to hear Klinghoffer solo work now.

I'm of course, a long time Chili pepper fan. Being introduced to it w/uplif mofo party plan in 80s. Saw them at small club (Visage) in the 80s back when they were wearing the socks only and barely known band except for college radio listeners. What a fun show that was. I can't remember if I saw them a 2nd time since though.

Klinghoffer is remarkably articulate in his analysis of this. Very mature too.

Last night I listened to Josh Klinghoffer solo album, Pluralone "To Be One With You". Boring to say the least, to say more, It ain't the Chili Peppers. I couldn't listen to all the songs. Maybe someone else can give it a listen and say it is any good.

I would have given anything to make George Clinton the producer and squeeze another funky one out of them. I will give it a listen.
