Duran Duran drop their 15th album, four decades after making their debut
Story by Reuters

LondonWhen British pop band Duran Duran made their debut, they did not know how long they would last. But 40 years on, the new wave group are still going strong, releasing their 15th studio album, "Future Past", on Friday.

"We would never have expected to be still making music together after all this time. We were just kids and we came together in punk rock," bassist John Taylor told Reuters.
"(In) the late 70s where nobody was thinking long term, it was like, could we just play next year?"

Formed by Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes in 1978, Duran Duran rose to fame with hits such as "Girls on Film" and "Rio".

I just listened to most of the new album on apple music. It's pretty good. If you liked Duran Duran in the past you will like it. If you didn't, give it a listen. It's got some good songs and sounds.

Rock n Roll peaked in 1983 -84, (esp art rock and most Rock bands) with only a few exceptions maybe. Duran Duran is no exception. I challenge anyone on this.

Grunge was commercially successful in the early-to-mid-1990s due to releases such as Nirvana's Nevermind, Pearl Jam's Ten, Soundgarden's Superunknown, Alice in Chains' Dirt, and Stone Temple Pilots' Core. The success of these bands boosted the popularity of alternative rock and made grunge the most popular form of rock music at the time.

So, I've listened to the new D-D album twice so far. My conclusion it's a good album. They obviously went with the disco theme as pretty much all the songs have disco beats.

Four on the floor and funky bass lines. It's interesting. The lyrics are very cliche'ish, vocals good, uptempo. Typical Duran Duran. I think the one song on the album anniversary prob will get some air play.

Ok, on to the next Rock n Roll music.
