My girlfriend got us tickets. I wasn't excited until I gave their 1st? album a listen, After the Snow. Pretty stoked now! Post punk Joy Division vibes, a little bit psychedelic, some electronic stuff tastefully mixed in with heavy and sweet bass lines, excellent vocals.

Atypical of Modern English's more punk and avant-garde sound, "I Melt With You" is probably the recognized post-punk song used in advertising - selling cheeseburgers, to M&Ms, but the real irony is that the song is actually about two lovers literally melting together during a nuclear holocaust.

Singer Robbie Grey explains:

"I don't think many people realized it was about a couple making love as the bomb dropped. As they made love, they become one and melt together."

They pretty good. I've seen them a couple times. Mostly one hit wonders (melt) but the other songs are good, just didn't get any airplay other than on college radio back in the day.

I bet it was fun. You missed the cooler sunday morning wave but honestly, not much.
