Thank you CFD ( I now know what I shall be watching for this evenings entertainment ! ) Always loved that " Manchester Sound " --- Got heavily involved in the Dance Scene back then . The Charltatans , The Inspiral Carpets , Happy Mondays , Soup Dragoons ,Neds Atomic Dust Bin and James to name just a few . And the sudden proliferation / resurgence of proper Psychedelic Drugs at the time was just a very pleasant added bonus as well ! ***

Yes!

Big ups to "Madchester" and the early rave stylee shebangs! You know what I'm talking about.

As stated, Happy Mondays made a truly joyous racket to be sure!

I read Shaun Ryder's biography a few years ago. It was a hoot and it became apparent that he is a lucky bastard to still be alive.

Cue forward a few years ...

I had tickets to see Happy Mondays in NYC last week. Couldn't believe that they were heading across the pond. I had always wanted to catch that particular sonic circus.

Unsurprisingly, the show was cancelled late last year due to "Our Paul's" death! Too much hard living will certainly take it's toll. Yeah -no one saw that coming!

None-the-less total bummer all the way around. RIP Paul Ryder.
