Wasn't that a quote from someone on here about the "Dems"?
Lindsey Graham Drops An F-Bomb on a US General Republican senators angrily walked out of a classified briefing with top military and national security leaders on Tuesday after tensions flared, resulting in Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) reportedly dropping the f-bomb while fuming at a general. One of the officials present at the briefing, which was meant to be about U.S. aid to Ukraine and Israel, was the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Charles Q. Brown. The briefing took a turn when GOP members led by Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and James Lankford (R-OK) changed topics to securing the southern border, which some in the GOP want to tie to additional Ukraine funding. "Then, several Republicans - including Romney - shouted and stood. Irate at the idea that the border was off the table for discussion/questions," reported PBS NewsHour correspondent Lisa Desjardins. "One of them started - it was disrespectful - started screaming at one of the generals and challenging him to why he didn't go to the border," WOW! Such respect to our Military! ------------------------- You can't spell "HATRED" without "RED HAT" |

General Betray us, ring a bell. That was from your boys. Don't remember many pro-slavers in Congress denouncing that.

Why tie them together? It's nothing more than a political move. There is no reason they can't be done separately. If it is that important, stay in session and hammer out real immigration reform.

The border is a concern, to be fair, but its not a military concern and it would be a very unwise move to treat that problem with a military solution. The Military and the Generals dictate their own threat assessment, having a few GOP senators yell at them to support their political agenda at the expense of their own military agenda can easily withstand the histrionics and f bombs of Lady G.

Lack of attention to border security is going to be the thing that costs the Dems the election. You don't have to pledge to fly helicopter gunships up and down the Rio Grande strafing migrants, but you do have to have some kind of a plan to prevent illegal crossing, facilitate legitimate asylum claims, and establish basic humanitarian services for refugees. I don't hear that from the Dems. And the constant barrage of right wing propaganda on the subject has boomers thinking ISIS is sneaking in with backpacks full of fentanyl and plans to rape the white women.

Agree with you RT on the need to address the issue.
What is really frustrating is that all this boarder stuff are bandaids. What is really needed is CIR, but that is a third rail for Dem or Republicans....and i don't understand why. one good thing that GW Bush did was push CIR and what he proposed was a good package that would have eliminated or reduced the issues we are having now. But his own party slammed him hard and did not back or pass the reform...I think it was because the big businesses did not want to lose low paid workers. Sad that we can't really address at the immigration reform level. ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV |
