Trump Appoints 22-Year-Old Ex-Gardener and Grocery Store Assistant to Lead U.S. Terror Prevention

The inexperienced 22-year-old reportedly tasked by Donald Trump with tackling U.S. extremism was working as a neighborhood gardener just five years ago and in a grocery store as recently as August 2023, the Daily Beast can reveal.

Thomas Fugate, who graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio just 12 months ago, is currently heading up the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships at the DHS, also known as CP3, plays a vital role supporting nationwide efforts to combat terrorism and hate-fueled violence.

But according to the youngster's LinkedIn page, Fugarte has almost no experience in this field - and in 2020 was working as a self-employed 'Landscape Business Owner.'

Prior to his work as a gardener, Fugate worked at an H-E-B supermarket in Austin, Texas, as a 'Cross Functional Team Member.'

What, we have a cross functional team member ready to clean up on aisle 6?

Maybe he is a contractor for the four Season Total Landscaping?
You know, that was the place where Rudy melted.

Another clown in the circus.

Hold on now fellas.

The guy might be 22, and he may be a fascist, there's that.

But let's not pile on a guy based on the fact that he did landscaping and worked in a supermarket as a teen. That's no different than the right making fun of AOC for being a bartender.

AOC was 29 and was elected. It's completely different.

So? I am an ex-janitor. I did pretty well for myself. Progs certainly cannot appreciate the value of working since they have not experience that situation, but the reality is that working in any job is a worthwhile endeavor and usually results in the betterment of the working individual.

"in 2020 was working as a self-employed 'Landscape Business Owner."

So when he was 17 he mowed lawns and owned his own lawn mower (means of production). That's the ideal of socialism.

Now if you tell me that he sat in the shade and sipped lemonade while three hired 16 year olds mowed the lawns using his mowers, and cashed the checks himself, then F him.

My point is that no honest work should ever be ridiculed.

Remember who Joe Hill wanted in the Union:

"We want the sailor and the tailor and the lumberjacks,
And all the cooks and laundry girls,
We want the guy that dives for pearls,
The pretty maid that's making curls,
And the baker and staker and the chimney sweep
We want the man that's slinging hash,
The kid that works for little cash
In one union grand.

We want the tinner and the skinner and the chambermaid,
We want the man with spikes on soles,
We want the man that's digging holes,
We want the man that's climbing poles,

And the tracker and the mucker and the hired man
And all the factory girls and clerks,
Yes, we want every one that works,
In one union grand."

On the left we can't tolerate classist bullshit. If you work, you should be with us, and you'll be treated with respect.

The issue isn't that he worked as a lawn service guy, the issue is he is woefully unqualified to head a team in DHS as he has zero experience with terror prevention, intelligence , security, leadership or management.
Zero.

"A 22-year-old college graduate with no previous government leadership or security experience is now heading up a Department of Homeland Security terror prevention team. "
That is the problem.

But Trump is filling out his cast for Season 2 of his reality show and this guy will be good fodder.

How do you know that? At 22 Alexander the Great was a king and had conquered Greece and the Balkans. He had no previous experience at being a king or a general. Depends on the person what they can do at 22, experience or not.

Tpuss would be the first one calling him a DEI hire if this was the other way around.

Now he's comparing him to Alexander the Great LOL.

Then say that, period. Bringing up lawn care and working at a supermarket is not relevant. It makes one look elitist and classist.

And at this point they'd appoint the Fox commandant of the chicken coop and it wouldn't make page 5.

Like you, I have no idea how competent this guy is. Where we are different is that I don't go trashing the guy despite not knowing anything about him. And, let's face it, you are not known for your ability to accurately judge a person. You voted for a senile president. I dare say that having a senile president is more harmful than having an incompetent head of the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships.

To the contrary, now's the time to stand up and gloat. Things are better across the board in under 6 months. I made the wise decision, unlike you doom-sowers.

RT - I never ragged on him for his work as a lawn guy during college, but did connect him to Rudy G. and his competency and association with a lawn care service.
Of that i am guilty..

I am ragging on his competence to be a person in charge of a DHS anti terrorist group and his absolute zero level of any experience or study in that area.
He is going to be in charge of an organization that has dozens of people and millions in budget, that has to interface with many outside organizations and departments that don't all pay nice or have their own agendas, needs to know how to deal with intelligence and security issues and organizations, needs to be able to analyze and determine threat levels and unwind hostile networks, and so so much more.

This kid is not qualified to lead this team in any way.
In the military young officers are trained and educated in their craft, and serve under a higher rank before they are given command.

In the Navy you study and train for months and maybe years before getting dolphins. And during that time you are tutored and pushed by Chiefs and Officers to make sure you are qualified.

And unlike Alexander the Great, he wasn't tutored by Aristotle and Leonidas...and he isn't the son of a king that he learned from.

He is a fking poli sci major and should have been put into a position where he could learn and if he has the chops then he would rise.
Rather than position him for success they set him up to fail.
That is shitty management.

But we shall see, maybe he is a rock star...like Kegsbreath....
Lol!

Who was he tutored by then?

Ah, but you DO know something about him as do we- he has NO qualifying experience for the job.

The very thing you DEI maniacs have been crying about for years.

So.. therein lies the rub.

Wrongz again.

Agreed, there is no merit based reason for him to be in this leadership position.
