Guess how long you wait in the USA if you don't have insurance?
Health care debt is the #1 cause of personal bankruptcy in this country. 60% of Americans can't write a check for $1000. Where do you see the Brits calling for the end of the NHS in favor of an American style private profit system? You dont. No country in the world wants the shit system we have. Single Payer Healthcare will NOT work...EVER! Doctors and Nurses dont work for free (or a 40% reduction in pay...as proposed by 'The Burn'...Bernie Sanders). No...even YOU can make them! Medicare for All would be a net savings over what Americans pay now for insurance company corporate jets and vacation houses.
Let the current CMS infrastructure manage the insurance for everyone and fund through taxation instead of putting the burden on business and workers. That's not true, Medicare for All would be a 2 trillion savings over 10 years. There's no need for "competition" in the administration of health insurance which everyone needs. Redundancy adds millions in costs, and profits for the private insurance companies (who add no value) drain resources. No, you'll pay the tax. But you'll not be paying for health insurance through your employer anymore. And if you change jobs, get laid off, get sick, or want to start a small business, no worries; you're covered.
