Do the math. If you were original tea party you had your first meetings 10 years ago. Since most of the members were strapping young 70 year olds that could still lift a folding chair the "movement" had unbridled energy. Add 10 years to those probably obese at the time bodies and they probably just want to take a nap as opposed to fight anything that young twitler is doing. Slimey's right it was phony movement anyway made up by racists as a foil to Obama.

It is by design. The Tea Party was never organic. It was orchestrated by multinational corporate oligarchs. They want to bankrupt the government so that they can further consolidate their own power. That is why they always increase the deficit in a good economy and then call for austerity and cuts in a recession economy. They want to be able to dump their mining waste in the nearest valley. They want to destroy public education so that they can reserve good education for their elite kids and leave everybody else dumber and dumber. The "freedom" rhetoric of their 'movement' was just smoke and mirrors to get the votes.

So, are you guys saying you want us to cut federal spending? Pretty sure you would all lose your f'ing minds if real cuts were proposed to anything other than decreasing border security, decreasing spending on law enforcement, or decreasing spending for our troops and/or national security.

I am assuming that you think that tax revenue went down as a result of the tax cuts? Guess what federal tax revenues were in 2018? $3.33T
Guess what they were in 2017? $3.32T
Guess what they were in 2016? $3.27T
2015? $3.25T

Now, take a stab at what federal tax revenue is estimated to be for 2019. What do you know? $3.44T
What is budgeted for 2020? $3.64T

What is this tax cut witchcraft?

I agree that Trump should take a more contractionary approach to the economy right now but his tax cuts have not hurt government revenues.

Here is one estimate of what we left on the table



Just keep running that out and it adds up to a giveaway without paying for itself while we put our economic prosperity in jeopardy with increased spending (sniper ignores of course) and the corresponding deficit increase.
