Mine is sucking. I pay for 100 bps, yet constantly get the spinning wheel off aggravation on my TV and slow loading speed on the net.

Has that idiot Trump hired finally gotten his wish to kill net neutrality or is my modem going bag and spectrum is lying to me?

Hmmmmm, , , , ,

I just used Speedtest and pulled 120 down, and pushed 11.9 up.

Now, and this has not happened in a while, but I have had to totally disconnect the Motorola modem and the Airport Extreme (cable and power), then restart the modem and then reconnect the Airport.

I would make it a public utility, accountable to the people and not the monopolists.

Yep, did that too, but it seems to be happening about once a week.

Could be the router or modem is on the fritz- or both.

Call up spectrum and tell them whatever they need to hear to get a tech out to your house. when he is there, be cool to him and ask that he give you a different modem. Alos have him go check the street lines and/or "doghouse" up the street to make sure everything checks out- tell him it slows way down like every 48 hours... that kinda makes him have to go check.

once he's checked, and you have a new modem, if it keeps happening, it could be your router. (if you have a seperate router from the modem)

Are you hooked up wirelessly or using the LAN connection. Channel traffic can diminish your experience considerably. The auto channel selection does not always work the best. Try a channel testing app on your phone and put your modem to the best channel. Will improve performance considerably on wifi.

My computer is hardwired. What's funny is that the speed test won't load for a few seconds - should be instant at 100 bps on my machine - and when it finally connects, it says I'm at 100 or beyond. lol

I would say it's the modem, but it's intermittent, considering it only happens every few days and not at peak hours. I'm not sure why there are even peak hours considering it's fiber optics and I live in a town of 12,000 people.

It doesn't require but one or two houses to interfere.

They can also throttle you depending on what you're doing thanks to the trump FCC.
