Mrs. Scombrid and I both have advanced degrees and good careers. We paid our own way through school. Each of our incomes is above the median for a household in Florida. Our combined income is well above the household median. We get hosed on taxes like all people that derive most of their income from wages. The GOP wants us to blame poor people. But we aren't like the people in Vierra that worship at the megachurch of Supply Side Jesus. The oligarchs cost us a lot more in the subsidies of the multinational corporations. They use high taxes on wage income to keep a lid on the prols and to keep the people that are treading a little higher in the water mad at the people breathing through straws.

Sure they'll vote on it and it'll pass the house, maybe even pass the senate. But what are the chances of congress overriding a presidential veto? It's pointless desperation really, and the only way for the Democratic party to build their base. They can't do it with a superior economic strategy at home and are resorting to recruiting criminals and aliens.
