"WASHINGTON (AP) - The Pentagon on Thursday slashed billions of dollars in funding for 17 Navy and Air Force aircraft and other military programs to free up money for the construction of President Donald Trump's long-sought U.S.-Mexico border wall, angering not just Democrats but also GOP defense hawks.
Defense Secretary Mark Esper approved the $3.8 billion border wall request from the Department of Homeland Security, and the Pentagon acknowledged that more cuts could be coming to provide additional funding for Trump's signature campaign promise." Dat wall doh! Who's going to pay for it? You and the military. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. Mafia Dons love construction projects. Great way to get public money into the hands of the family.

And Mexico is gonna pay for it. They are so gonna pay for it. Not with 3.8 billion dollars. Not with their money. It's out money from our military and our military didn't need it anyway. After all, our frenemies like North Korea, China and Russia aren't building their military's capabilities.

That fence is going to be tall enough to keep out planes.

Hell hath frozen over. We have Democrats bitching about cutting military spending. Like it or not, the wall will have real ROI associated with it.

Hell hath frozen over. We have Democrats bitching about cutting military spending. Like it or not, the wall will have real ROI associated with it. Cutting? It's still being spent and with less effective results. ------------------------- I was right. |

Hell hath frozen over. We have Democrats bitching about cutting military spending. Like it or not, the wall will have real ROI associated with it. Please explain what the ROI is. From what I've seen in reports and articles from places like Stanford and MIT the ROI is horrible. Taking money form the Military which provides a real benefit both near and long term and building a southern boarder wall which arguably isn't necessary or provides any better protection than what we now have is the problem. Especially when the Cheeto said Mexico is going to pay for it and it would not impact our budget. ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV |

ROI? Sniper thinks we are going to evade some sort of cost?
The wall will have massive holes in it. Why? The GOP tools have no understanding of the eminent domain issues. They are f-ing their own kind as twitler lovers will be forced to give up their land. That $hit will be in courts for decades to come. The business of taking Americans land. Edited: 02/14/2020 at 07:58 AM by Greensleeves |

Hell hath frozen over. We have Democrats bitching about cutting military spending. Like it or not, the wall will have real ROI associated with it. I'd spend it on healthcare for working people. That would be a human ROI. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. I think snippy got some well deserved responses. It's not saving money. It's not helping the military and it's not even a mediocre result for that kind of money.

If Trump had only ended catch and release and built the wall then his presidency would have been a success. Unfortunately for all you Stalinists, Marxists, and Maoists out there, he also decided to go ahead and oversee record-low unemployment, trade deals that benefit all of us, record-high stock market records, an economy in which the bottom 50% are improving at a much higher rate than the top 1%, making strides in the opioid crisis, and energy independence.
Democrats bitching about cutting military spending is like a dog bitching at its owner for beating the cat. ------------------------- "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul," - George Bernard Shaw “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up.” - Barack Obama “End of quote. Just because I triggered some of you freaks doesn't mean the responses amounted to more than temper tantrums. ------------------------- "The government who robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul," - George Bernard Shaw “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f—k things up.” - Barack Obama “End of quote. Military spending isn't being cut.
Trump's jobs numbers are less than the last three years of Obama. There are still billions in tariffs. Trump's spent $1.7 trillion to get Obama's growth average. Energy independence was well under way in the Obama years. Some of the increase at the bottom is due to the increase in minimum wage in the Blue states. All of these are verifiable if you care too look. ------------------------- I was right. |
