victor Papanek Was a visionary on how to design products and packaging that would imitate nature. Many others have picked up where he Left off.

BioMimicryis a field of design that is exploding.

Cradle to Cradle is another example of end to end design.

Fortunately, there are intelligences at large creating new paradigm's for design, manufacturing and reprocessing goods.

There would be a standard grade if the world was serious about recycling.

Charging a fee for the bottle would point us in the right direction.

The earth evolved with perfect biological packaging. Papanek was working on biological packaging that mimicked nature. He did a project for Nikon where packaging was grown around lenses for shipping. The packaging was organic and compostable. It was successful but not implemented because the public test group was negative in usability test. The simplest example of bio packaging is the banana. Biomimicry packaging would imitate that concept. Nikon biomimicry project was based on the banana Encasement principle.

As long as the petroleum corporations have a strangle hold on world commerce nothing will change.
