Big drop at open. If you are investing for the long term and feel like you missed the bottom- there may be another opportunity today or this week.

Most analysts felt we would retest the recent low, could be 10-12% left to drop from here, or it may turn around and never look back this week.

Just a heads up

My projection for Year End 2020 S & P 500: 2650. That is higher than it is now. This is going to be a very very volatile market. Not for amateurs. There are going to be big winners and big losers. It will be key to identify individual equities. Index investing will be difficult , due to herd mentality. ( Select sector ETFs will do well ) Im previously posted some of those. ( example: on line retail )

Fixed income ( bonds) will continue to be among the best performing assets classes. I am now and I am always a proponent of Municipal Bonds.

The big drops were based on probability, we haven't even been hit by reality yet.

jdb- can you elaborate on this: "Index investing will be difficult , due to herd mentality"

Full market ETFs such as SPY and DIA are the market. These are very common and widely used ways to invest. Not everything will do well or do bad. Better to pick the stocks and sectors that have better chances in the future of doing better than the market. I think the S & P will be higher than now by the end of the year.
( Could go a lot lower before rising)

But I dont think it will be much higher than today. So I like things like:

NXTG ( 5G)

SKYY (Cloud )

ONLN ( online retail)

EMQQ ( EM Internet Ecommerce)

IPAY ( mobile payments )

ARKG ( Genomic)

IBB ( biotech)

FIXD ( fixed income)

TLT ( 20 yr treasury )

LTPZ ( 15 yr TIPS )

These are sector ETFs. I like some of the individual stocks inside of these more.

If you dont have enough to buy individual Municipal bonds there is : MUB.

Be careful, get professional research.
