To summarize, more Americans are relying on social security and any type of socialism they can get to help them. Six differing stories of boomers in the same boat. Unions did a lot for workers. Pensions were great. Since corporations (if you work for one) are no longer held to any moral or civil standard the workers are f-ed. Hard labor and ergonomic issues result in disabilities. People may live longer but not necessarily healthier.

Well these days a retirement plan means giving your money to a bunch of notorious gamblers, and if they win you get a cut. If they lose then.... whoopsie!
