This morning's (7/8/20) News report is that 50 ICUs in the state are at Capacity.

Not to worry though, as long as the "economy" is Okay, , , , your mother will do just fine in a tent in the hospital's parking lot. After all, her heart attack was not "that bad", , , , , , Ya, right!

Ya, sure, , , , you live in Mims but, the closest ICU bed for you might be Lakeland, , , , I'm sure that you will be just fine with that, , , ,! LOL

Point being is that NO ICU in Florida should be "at capacity" in the first place. We Have Failed.

I believe I heard DeSantis say he was sending a 100 contract medical staff to miami-dade to assist with their overrun facilities. Also that the federal government might be sending some help too. #NotOver

In Italy when they were overwhelmed they rationed care to those most likely to survive.

In the USA it will most likely be rationed on the ability to pay. In fact I think we're already seeing that play out.

At least 56 intensive care units in Florida hospitals reached capacity on Tuesday, state officials said. Another 35 hospitals show ICU bed availability of 10% or less, according to the Agency for Health Care Administration in that state.

Florida's daily infection rate is higher than almost every country across the globe.

Florida is the 3rd most populated state in the country and we still have under 4,000 deaths.

For Covid-19 deaths, Florida is 9th in the nation. New York's death toll is currently at 32,000.

You guys can keep saying "YOU JUST WAIT! THE SPIKE IS COMING!!!" but you probably only have about another week or so before you are either proven right or made to look like dipshits again.

Even if I don't die I don't want to be one of the 20% that gets severely sick because YOU are a fucktard about wearing a mask. The hospital sucks, the ICU even more, and being on a ventilator even more. I also care about all the business owners that get screwed out of their livelihoods because people refuse to be responsible. Sorry your manhood is threatened by a mask, but I don't see you out there crying about your rights because you have to wear clothes when you leave the house.

There are 47,745 total ICU beds in Florida.

There are CURRENTLY 12,113 available.

MOST ICU's operate at 80% capacity on a normal day!

Go blow smoke up someone elses ass!

Um, the state isn't recording death numbers and hasn't been for quite awhile.

They are where I am living. I have long suspected that the news they have in Progsville is much different than what I get. That explains the monumental ignorance I see in progs.

No, it's state wide. I can link you some correct info if you would like.

I don't want to end up in the hospital either. If I was over 65 years old, fat, had hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, etc., then I would be taking plenty of precautions to prevent myself from ending up there. I can look at the data and see that around 89% of the people hospitalized are older than I am and of those, around 87% had one or more of the pre-existing conditions I mentioned. I know I am being told to fear for my life but the data I am reading, directly from the CDC's website, is telling me something different.

If wearing a mask makes you feel better, then by all means wear your mask. If I felt sick, I would absolutely wear one. If I feel great then I will not. Regardless of how I feel, if I cough, I will do it into the clean fabric on the shoulder of whatever shirt I am wearing.

People made these masks in their family room of cotton that is no better than that on my shirt. People aren't washing the masks like they should. I see them fidgeting with them constantly. We can go into how the coronavirus is 120 nanometers and when you type a period (.), that period is over a million nanometers, so the virus is about 8,500 times smaller than a period but it sounds like your mind is already made up. Your cotton maks has plenty of air moving through it. That air flows through holes. Pretty much all of these masks are just making people feel warm and fuzzy. If you are one of these people, then keep doing what you are doing. However, don't call me an asshole because you think a dirty, stinky, piece of cotton is going to save you from the ghosts in the air. Unless someone coughs in your face, you are not going to be talking anyone long enough in the grocery store to have an impact.

"The use of fabric materials may provide only minimal levels of respiratory protection to a wearer against virus-size submicron aerosol particles (e.g. droplet nuclei). This is partly because fabric materials show only marginal filtration performance against virus-size particles when sealed around the edges. Face seal leakage will further decrease the respiratory protection offered by fabric materials."

History has shown that nothing good comes from doing things that don't make sense, just because that is what you have been told to do.

Again, you don't seem to grasp the simple fact that the mask isn't to protect the person wearing it. It is to reduce the chance of the wearer spreading it. Seriously dude, this isn't that fucking hard.

THIS is what the CDC says

CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don't live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

Cloth face coverings may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others.

Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings.

Cloth face coverings should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

LOL, okay. The virus is 120 nanometers and the holes in the fabric of your mask are larger than that but the CDC is saying that it MAY help. As in, it can't hurt. I agree. It isn't going to hurt anyone if you wear a mask. If it makes you feel like you are saving the world then by all means wear it but you aren't doing any more to prevent the disease than someone cough into the clean fabric of their shoulder and practicing good hygiene.
