Weekly Deaths have gone up 150% from 3 weeks ago.

New record today 15,300 new cases. Slow day in deaths at *only* 45.

Positivity averaged 19% this week up just short of 300% from a few weeks ago. Actually this may be off, three different places reporting different numbers. That might just be for central Florida

248 new hospitalizations

It over yet?

How many people was it over for yesterday? How many people will it be over for tomorrow?

Paul Waldron - the commissioner for St. Johns County just south of Jacksonville, Florida - has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Last week, Waldron voted against a countywide order requiring all residents to wear face masks as a way to prevent coronavirus infections. According to News 4 Jax, Waldron wasn't "necessarily opposed" to the face mask requirement, but wanted county administrators to clarify the types of masks required and whether the county could provide sufficient supplies for employees and citizens entering government buildings. In a Facebook post written by his daughter, she said he was in the "most critical of conditions," adding that because of "complications from the virus, he went into septic shock and many organs are struggling."

If this was a really bad flu without China connections and Trump never offered an opinion on masks, would we be in a better situation right now?

"Based on death certificate data, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased from 6.9% during week 26 to 5.5% during week 27, representing the eleventh week of a declining percentage of deaths due to PIC. The percentage is currently below the epidemic threshold but will likely change as more death certificates are processed, particularly for recent weeks."-CDC weekly report

I know it isn't the fear porn that most of you are wanting to see but deaths continue to decline and we are officially below the threshold of what is considered an epidemic for the first time since February.

Deaths aren't declining. They are on the rise, up 150% in three weeks in our state. I really don't care if the percentage is 6.9 or 5.5 when infections rates are up, more people are going to get critically ill and more people are going to die.

Actual deaths. The number of people no longer breathing because of this mismanaged health crisis are going up with the infections rates. You seem to like ignoring that fact because it doesn't conform to your world view.

If FL deaths are at an all time high, what do you think is driving the #'s? Where do you think they will be a week or two from now? You dotards are not much for thinking it seems...

If you guys want to err on the side of caution then I don't see any problem with that. I think everyone realizes this is still real. No need to shoot the messenger when we have some positive news.

CDC forecast of new Covid-19 hospitalizations updated on July 9th.

The problem is that the news isn't good. You are presenting it as such when it doesn't match reality. Infections are way up, hospitalizations are way up, and deaths are way up in our state.

My concern is over the how many actual people die, have long term health issues, and even permanent issues in some cases because of this virus. Hard numbers, actual individual lives. That is exactly what any decent human being should be concerned about.

Are you speaking specifically about Florida when you say hospitalizations are way up because nationally hospitalizations are down in every age group? I'm linking all of the data I'm using to make my inferences. You are welcome to do the same.

Take a look at the graph in the top left.
