A week-or-two ago I read an article that stated that up to 40% of the small businesses that closed for COVID would probably never reopen.

Now, this morning, ABC's GMA had a blurb that up to 40% of the current lost jobs would probably be "gone" for good.

We had lost several eateries before the virus and a bunch more business were lingering in the shadows, so the 40% isn't surprising.

Trump's job numbers for last year had been revised down by 500,000. Best economy ever? Not really. I'm not sure anything coming out of the Trump world - especially data - is worth listening to.

I was right.

More than 40% of the layoffs that have occurred since the lockdowns began will likely never come back, according to a recent paper from Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago. That's around 16 million jobs.

Bureau of Labor says 20% of small businesses fail in their first year. So it's already tough...

Well, we know progs won't support them. I've been doing my part by eating out at a restaurant most days since the reopening. Progs? Under their beds, of course.

I cook better than restaurants in CFL. No need to eat out.

Oh he knows shit on a "stick" .. believe me

Consider 40% of businesses not coming back, and 40% of lost jobs not coming back. Now, how were we going to post the most incredible economic numbers again?

Oh wait, they must have been talking about Trump's Sharpie
