565,00+ Americans now dead due to COVID.
Covid deaths have a running 7-day average of 750 per day, the number of new case running 7-day average is over 70k per day and going up. 31.6 million cases so far. Getting vaccinated in Florida is a piece of cake as walgreens, wally world, cvs, publix, etc. all offer appointments and the process is super easy. Each of those locations has their own webpage for making an appointment. Florida's web page is here: https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/ Nearly 32% of the Florida population has had at least one dose, and 20% is fully vaccinated. Nationwide those number are 38% and 23%. Wear a mask, get vaccinated, and be considerate of others. It is that easy!

Was at beachside Walmart buying TP and stuff yesterday when they announced real time, walk up Covid vaccinations at the Pharmacy. We're getting there. Wear that mask, keep the distance, get the jab.

Covid deaths have a running 7-day average of 718 per day, the number of new case running 7-day average is over 62k per day and going up. 32 million cases so far. Walgreens, wally world, cvs, publix, etc. all offer appointments and the process is super easy. Each of those locations has their own webpage for making an appointment and a few accept walk-ins. Nearly 39% of the Florida population has had at least one dose, and 25.4% is fully vaccinated. Nationwide those number are 41% and 27%. The rate of vaccinations are beginning to slow down, but we need to keep the pressure on to get our population vaccinated. Vaccination hesitancy, some from fear some from a political stance, is a real thing. We need to get over that and get 80+% of our population vaccinated against COVID. Talk to your doctor if you are worried about getting the vaccination and see what they think. Covid deaths have a running 7-day average of 688 per day, the number of new case running 7-day average is over 36.8k per day and going down. 32.9 million cases so far. Getting a vaccine is now very easy. Don't even need an appointment. Children 12+ can now get the Pfizer vaccine at places like CVS, wallgreens, wally world, etc. This is good news for our middle and high schoolers. Nearly 45% of the Florida population has had at least one dose, and 34% is fully vaccinated. Nationwide those number are 47% and 36%. We need to get 80+% of our population vaccinated against COVID to truely get this behind us. Talk to your doctor if you are worried about getting the vaccination and see what they think. The vast majority of practicing doctors are recommending the vaccine for healthy individuals. Wear a mask when close to people you don't know, get vaccinated, and be kind to others. WE are doing better, but have a ways to go.

I think I will go with what has worked so far. No mask, no lockdown, no vaccine, no social distancing, no additional hand washing. I would note that with the exception of the vaccine, the rest of that stuff has been shown to be pretty much useless. So it looks like I came up with the winning formula. I agree, however, that people over 50 should get vaccinated if they are so inclined.

The "round" number of "excess" deaths, not including COVID, for 2020 is about 500,000 over normal yearly numbers.
And no, nobody is saying that an extra 500,000 caught COVID and died, , , , a person who "was not feeling well" and did not go to the doctor because they were afraid of COVID, and then died of a heart attack is included in the numbers. It has been a couple of months since I updated.
604,000+ Americans now dead due to COVID. Covid deaths have a running 7-day average of 393 per day, the number of new case running 7-day average is over 38.2k per day and going up. 33.9 million cases so far. The number of new cases is going up sharply, the number of deaths is going up more slowly. Deaths lag new cases. Nearly 100% of new cases and deaths are among the unvaccinated population. Think about that. Getting the vaccination is easy, and free. Look at the stats. We need to overcome this, and getting vaccinated against COVID has proven itself to be effective. BTW - Georgianna Church on MI recently had to shut down for a while because they ignored all the Covid precautions and had a significant outbreak within their congregation. Don't be that kook who refuses to wear a mask in places that require it, like airports and flying. Saw an ugly incident while traveling recently involving someone who felt like they needed to explain/rant why they didn't need to wear a mask. The security team that arrived to assist explained that they did not have a problem with that and the airline has the right to refuse service and escorted that person off the airplane. That kook was quite pissed. It was hard to watch as the person was really irrational and said a lot of really stupid cringy things. Wear a mask (even if vaccinated) when when in large groups or close to people you don't know, respect businesses that request/require you to wear a mask, get vaccinated, and be kind to others.
