The trump administration has been trying to "correct" the record with just how many times Fauci was wrong. The tirade adviser went all in to take the pulse of the MAGAts and it went badly. Now the trump administration has been forced to disavow his published, cleared op-Ed. Was there any fact checking on Trump? Has it miraculously just gone away. Did the hot weather see it dwindle to nothing. Did the 14 people get over it and not spread it? Did bleach kill it. Hydroxychloroquin? Did the numbers go down because we stopped testing for it? Are people dying from being quarantined? Is it just like the flu? All of this bullshit and he wants keep going with it and Fauci is in his way. Solution: remove him, only that is not easy with his enviable credibility, honesty and popularity, so they cherry pick his mistakes, magnify them and present as if they all happened at once and they caused the loss of lives and have their greatest people write op Eds and talk shit.

Then they crank up the internet fringe conspiracy types and set them to work. It's a smear campaign worthy of a tech savvy middle schooler with about the same amount of success. When they say the base is against Fauci, they mean the assholes of the world that saw a deadly pandemic as a needless economic disaster that was designed to make trump lose the election. The facts will not confuse or correct their utter, complete and total knowledge of this. You cannot make them think. It's how they feel. They feel like they understand this whole hoax better than anyone. Just ask them.

But your guy believes a miracle will save him, it goes away in the hot weather and it's a hoax. That wrong? Dead wrong. Fauci's mistakes were limited to the lack of information about a novel virus as it was being understood in real time. Trump has maintained his mistakes. He's even doubled down. But let's be clear, do you trust the infectious disease experts to inform you even after his mistakes or do you trust a president who believes the media is hyping this whole thing to make him lose an election?
