Currently, the Brevard schools are looking at essentially 4 options for the kids.

1. BVS - Brevard Virtual School: not tied to a brick an mortar school. 100% from home. Similar to Home Schooling.

2. eLearning - child is tied to a brick and mortar school but attends classes over computer. Keeps school hours and interlaces with teacher virtually.

3. Full time in School

4. Mix of eLearning and In School (maybe 2 days In School/3 days eLearning)

Most parents I know are leaning towards eLearning or the Mix.

A few are going BVS, which is great if your family situation allows it.

The State Gov screwed this up with the mandate.

Talked to school administrators earlier this week and their desire is to let those who want to do BVS do it, and then start the school year with eLearning and transitioning into a Mix and then going back full time when Covid19 resolves. For children who don't have the home support for elearning accommodations would be made.

That's interesting that you say most of the parents you talk to are leaning towards the mixed approach. It seems like that option still has a lot of potential to expose kids to the virus and still prevents parents from being able to work a normal schedule. I don't see the positive for this one.

Did you even read what he actually wrote?

Or do you think The Covid can come through the 'puter screen?

Most parents are doing E-learning for now - (no thanks to dotards, since parents, teachers and school boards had to fight for it , middle fingers raised)

until they deem it's time to go back.

Tpap is a dotard who knows nothing about which he speaks- it's the same school, same teachers, same tests, same grades. Via computer.

But now, and in any case, no matter how careful you have been about protecting your family from COVID-19, , , , your children will now, most certainly, bring COVID home to you!!

Covid isn't the indiscriminate killer that we once feared it was. It just isn't. The people who are at risk are a pretty specific slice of the population, with some pretty specific conditions. The numbers just don't support that sending kids to school is going to result in all of those kids becoming orphans. If the grandparents fall into the at-risk category then it is on the grandparents to take the necessary precautions for themselves. The world doesn't stop because grandma and grandpa enjoy shopping at Publix at peak hours on a Saturday. Older people and at-risk people shouldn't feel like a mask gives them immunity from anything.

These experts say the nation needs to shut down again
From CNN's Christina Maxouris

More than 150 prominent medical experts, scientists, teachers, nurses and other experts have signed a letter urging leaders to shut the country down and start over to contain the rampant spread of the virus.

"The best thing for the nation is not to reopen as quickly as possible, it's to save as many lives as possible," they wrote in the letter, which was sent last week to the Trump administration, leading members of Congress and state governors.
Meanwhile, with overwhelmed hospitals and lengthy delays in testing, some local leaders - including Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti - said a second stay-at-home order might be possible.

The state of the pandemic in the US: More than 1,000 people died every day for four straight days last week due to Covid-19, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

You still don't understand the purpose of a mask.

Except it kills more than just grandma and grandpa. It kills children, teens, young adults, adults, and middle aged people. It also does more than just kill. It puts people in the hospital on oxygen, on ventilators in the ICU, and causes all kinds of lasting illness and long term damage in people that don't 'die'. Every single one of those people on a ventilator and many on oxygen would otherwise be dead without access to that care. What do you think happens if a health care system gets overwhelmed and doctors and nurses are forced to triage?

You don't support masks no matter how much evidence and research points towards the benefit. While at the same time, you want everything open and back to normal. You are a walking talking example of a person that engages in self defeating behavior. Did you get dropped on your head when you were a baby? Honest question.

Nope. He is either too brainwashed by the foreign government propaganda or simply lacks the capacity to understand. The more he posts, the more I believe it to be the latter.

A healthy person under 50 years old has little to no chance of dying from this.

I've stated this multiple times but it doesn't seem to be resonating with you, so I'll say it again. I'm fine with masks. Most people aren't wearing masks. If you are going to wear a mask, you should be wearing a surgical mask at a minimum, otherwise, you are probably just giving yourself a false sense of security. The cotton ones have no filtering properties. They are great if you are trying to stave off seasonal allergies but probably not going to do much at all to prevent the spread of an aerosolized virus. Social distancing is your friend and probably the best thing you can do. No need to derail this thread into another mask debate. We get it. You love covering your face with a dirty piece of fabric and it makes you really happy when other people do to. If you choose to wear a maks, good for you. If you choose not to, that's fine too. Just keep your distance from me.

LOL Sniper *still* doesn't understand how the masks reduce spread of the virus despite having it explained to him numerous times. He was probably one of those kids that you had to keep telling not to eat the paste and crayons when he was in school. He also thinks dying is the only bad thing this virus is causing. What a dotard.

And f*ck the kids right? *only* 303 of Florida's kids have been admitted because of this virus.

I've posted like 8 of these. Pretty much every study you can find that was done prior to 2020 says that the fabric masks aren't doing what you think they are.

You don't seem to understand that if an aerosolized particle the size of this virus is 0.12 microns and is so small that it can remain suspended in the air for long periods of time that it is also small enough to get into and out of your fabric mask the same way the air you breath does.

The flu hits children harder than Covid. Should we just close schools for good?

This one pretty much says the same thing. Basically, wearing a mask won't hurt anyone but it isn't any kind of silver bullet.

One thing you fail to realize, is that children who get exposed to COVID can become carriers of the virus.

Even if they are healthy, even if they don't show symptoms, even if they don't get sick, even if they don't get hospitalized, and even IF they don't die, they can still infect someone else; family member, friend, acquaintance, etc.

You say, " little to no chance of dying from this." so please give us a number. How many sick, dead, dying children are enough for you to begin caring about this?

What's your point? Everyone of those kids can transmit it to the staff, teachers and their families. Most of those people are in the high death bracket.

Top it off, these are numbers from us trying to mitigate this somewhat. What would it be like if they go back to school? You can't say. But we know kids will die for sure and we know you are good with that, you creep.

(CNN) A 9-year-old girl with no known underlying health conditions is the youngest person to die from coronavirus complications in Florida, officials said.

Kimora "Kimmie" Lynum died on July 18 in Putnam County, according to Florida Department of Health records. It confirmed her identity and said she's the state's youngest coronavirus fatality.

She had no pre-existing health issues and her mother took her to the hospital due to a high fever, said family spokesman Dejeon Cain. The hospital sent her home and she collapsed a short time later, Cain said.

I don't want a link to some website.
What is YOUR number? How many dead children are you ok with after the schools open?
How many parents?
How many grandparents?
How many teachers?
