In capitalism consumer pressure can force a business to treat customers well. In a for profit prison there is no price pressure to make the prison treat inmates well. The only incentive is to bilk the government and treat inmates like shit if that reduces costs. That is the profit motive here and it is perverse. ------------------------- ...
