Former Nashville Council Member Tony Tenpenny, a Trump-loving Republican who posted anti-face mask memes on Facebook, has died from complications resulting from being infected from COVID-19.

As The Tennessee Holler points out on Twitter, Tenpenny regularly railed against COVID-19 restrictions on his Facebook page, and he posted memes that attacked face masks as part of a socialist plot, while also directly accusing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of lying about the severity of the disease.

Tenpenny's Facebook page was also filled with memes and content supportive of President Donald Trump.

We have been getting to spend many hours a day with him. Today he was off of the vent and breathing on his own most of the day. His kidneys are now functioning on their own and he is no longer on dialysis. He is still responding to questions by nodding. He even squeezed my hand today." she wrote.
Hey, Paul Waldron recovered. If you can call it that. How much does a month on a vent and dialysis cost?

They will die before they get honest. Sad. But this is herd mentality.

How did he get it? Was he wearing a face mask at the time? If not, would a face mask have prevented the infection? Was he in a public place when he caught it? Was the person who infected him wearing a face mask? Did his being a Trump supporter increase his chances of infection and/or death? If he had been a Biden supporter, would he still be alive? If he had never posted anything about masks, would he still have died?

If he believed in science, listened to experts, and took precautions he might well be alive now. Trumpism is correlated with an anti-science world view.

I'd say if he had followed CDC guidelines there's an excellent chance he might be alive today.

Might or might not. Most people get it from family, close friends or in a nursing home. I went out to a bar on Saturday. No mask. Pretty crowded. Sat inside. Felt great. Let's see what happens in the next 14 days.

Well you're taking a risk, especially a crowded bar. Not worth it to me, and the more people spread it the longer the economic consequences will last.
Europe is on the uptick again probably because they got careless and went on summer holidays.

I think the fall is going to be bad, so at least get a flu shot.

The more you promote the spread with mass gathering like bars then the more likely you are to catch it from family or friend. Co-worker of Mrs. Scombrid brought it to work after catching it at a wedding. Fortunately their work follows strict distancing and mask policies and there was no workplace transmission. Can't see why you don't understand how promoting the spread is worse for the economy than promoting common sense distancing, mask use, and sanitation. One little local example. The are normally 500 canadian athletes in Brevard over the winter to train in canoe and kayak racing. They aren't coming this year. That is a 1.8 million dollar loss to the county. Just that one little thing, winter canoe/kayak race training.

I have gotten a flu shot once in my life. Have not gotten the flu as an adult. I must be resistant to it or something. Haven't taken a sick day in 41 years of work. Only thing I get with any regularity are those intestinal bugs. When/if a covid vaccine comes out, I'll take that. Can't hurt.

This would be a good year to consider a flu vaccination, even if it's the first.

You think you haven't gotten it. Just like you thought there was not going to be an en banc hearing.

Quit fucking around Tpap. Seriously, no bar is worth needlessly endangering yourself.
