Bush43's CIR plan was worthwhile and one of the things i thought he did well. Unfortunately he couldn't get the rest of the GOP to back him on it. Sad, it would have been a good legacy for Bush.

Some are decent. Your inability to tell the GOP from the Democrat party border on bizarre to the point they appear phony.

Also the reports of the death of America are greatly exaggerated.

Oh I can tell them apart just fine, I just think supporting one over the other is like deciding if a quart of milk or leftover seafood smell worse when left in the sun a few hours.

And being told that one "must" choose from one of the two corporate approved parties is profoundly undemocratic and I find it repulsive.

Things started to peak & break down late in 2006 more into 2007 as that's when the majority of the initial interest only loans came to expiry... it took a while to trickle through to where it was front and center, but if you were paying attention and moved your money out of stocks ( or rebalance 401k for regular investors ) into cash then you made out quite well or at least avoided loosing half of retirement savings. 2008 was the beginning of the residual effects, but the real event was before when all of those over extended homeowners were no longer able to pay the bill

That is spot on and exactly the issue - this stupid only 2 party system. The rest of the civilized world, or at least most of europe, operates on a 3 party system: nobody actually "wins" the election rather the one with the most votes must reach across the aisle and form a government with one of the losers. Imagine that actually working together not just pork conversation "you better put this in the bill or I ain't signing." I just don't know why we can't get out of this system. It's clear that the nature of things is really there: 1st progressive, far left socialist ( Bernie ) & 2nd middle of road establishment ( Joe ) & 3rd conservatives ( not sure who, but currently Trump is collecting their votes ). Why not let all 3 run

Well the land mass named "America" will continue to exist, but no empire lasts forever. And the liberal policies that stabilized and balanced out the meaner tendencies of capitalism are being pushed back as greed becomes the central ethic of our culture. Massive and ever growing wealth inequality is not sustainable. Poor whites vote against their economic interests right now because they are easily motivated by racism and xenophobia. That can't last forever.

It's not going to collapse overnight, but the decline is there if you look for it. And it's not caused by "librtards" or "illegals", it's caused by the merger of corporate capitalism and government.
