His statements are not "failure" but rather a very pragmatic view.
Even if we had stopped ALL air travel, closed the borders, went into a COMPLETE, HARD, Lock Down, , , , , guess what? Sure, sure, it would have very greatly reduced the virus spread then BUT, now? It is so very likely that we would now be exactly where we are with COVID. What do you suggest? Mandatory masks with arrests and criminal penalties? Arrest and imprisonment for Fraternity parties? "Take out" only, not even outdoor seating? NO in-person schooling? COVID has us By the Balls with a No Win situation. The CDC is saying that a Nation-Wide mandatory mask mandate could save 100,000 lives a year. BUT, , , , I've already heard from those certain types saying that they Will Not Wear A Mask because it is "Only 100,000"!!!!!!!! Federally there is nothing that can legally be 'mandated'.
