Today is a good day to remember a quote by Goebbels.

This could be the beginning or the end of trumpism. This next week will tell.

It is not about having the legal right to object. That objection rejected the lawful results of a valid election. No fraud, no theft and no scandal. The anomalies that exist in every election were exaggerated by a pathological liar who put all of his chips on this last bet: I won and it's only fraud, theft and lies that have prevented my second term. A big lie.

He needed more liars to keep this lie alive and give it stamina. He found liars in his party. They saw his success with lies. They envied his power and coveted his wealth. They would lie for him and with him because they could benefit with the people that bought these lies and supported the big liar. It was harmless, they reasoned, because everyone else would be honest and vote down the lie and they could lie and get all of the benefits and none of the detriments.

They joined the chorus of the big lie. They all told his big lie. They kept repeating it. Fox repeated it, but not enough, so OAN jumped in with Newsmax. They maintained the lie literally every day with "news" that the election results were untrustworthy, illegal and unfair. Legitimate news reported that this was not true. It was a lie. This lie was not based on evidence, facts or proof. It never was.

The truth was stronger than the lie. The Liars attacked every source of truth. The liars very existence depended on these lies so they lied louder and more often. But the courts require truth and liars couldn't put their names on the sworn affidavits required in the lawsuits. The big lie was sucking wind, not taken as dangerous because the public's fatigue at all these liars lies had desensitized them.

The lie was sucking wind, but it was getting pure oxygen on websites that prided themselves on "alternative facts," a term that sought to normalize lies and prevent the truth from contradicting them. The words were cheap and the followers wanted action.

January 6, 2021 is a day that will live in infamy. The liars followers organized, staged and participated in a coup. The lies took the form of a mob and they murdered a police officer. Others died. The second, third and fourth in command of our country were less than a minute away from being overrun by the mob.

It's over now. But there has to be a reckoning and the festering boil of trumpism has to be lanced and excised. The 130 GOP house members that lent their names and position to this lie, the senate members of the sedition caucus and all of the people amplifying the lie they knew or should have known was a lie.

Let the reckoning begin.

They didn't place the statement in the body of their website nor did they make any special editorial post, they tweeted that they were mistaken and wanted to set the record straight that Dominion did not mess with the election.
