This BS will go on ad naseum until the moron science deniers start acting like responsible adults. The variants will continue to morph, multiply and target different vulnerable groups.. The UK variant is now targeting the once thought 'immune' - younger kids in school - and they are taking it home with them to their parents etc.. Open schools you say? Yup, lots of private religous ones are open for business.. The longer it's out there, the more potential we all eventually get screwed. The economy remaining messed up? Blame the science deniers not at least wearing masks and refusing to get vaccinated when it's available to them.. No doubt that when qtrump got 'enlightened' that this virus was largely targeting minorities and not his precious white base, it was full steam ahead 'opening up'. Ignore the collateral damage to the base in states where co-morbidities are prevelant - not 'swing states', so they don't matter.. Vlad wins again.....
