This has implications for booster shots on the horizon as well, which are unlikely to be effective.

"A third round of booster immunization with the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is currently under consideration," the researchers explained. "Our data suggest that repeated immunization with the wild-type spike may not be effective in controlling the newly emerging Delta variants."5

Well, since I posted the information about a Japanese study and cited to CFP, the study is obviously wrong. The hard fact that Delta already has been getting around the vaccinations, doesn't take away from that wrongness. So, what to do? Seems clear cut to me - you vaccinated progs need to flaunt your covid imperviousness by letting covid sufferers sneeze in your unmasked faces. You progs are so smart. You really got me on this one.

Without the idea of "delta" everyone would just think that the vaccines suck. Now, they have a scapegoat or they can just say that you would have gotten much sicker had you not been vaccinated, which is very convenient because that shit can't be measured. Maybe we just got better at treating it and burned through many of the most vulnerable early on.

Why wouldn't we be testing for "delta" to see where it is vs. where it isn't? It makes no sense why we wouldn't be testing for the delta variant and making an attempt to see how many cases we have.

It's obvious that as long as people refuse to get the jab, the more strains are going to develop, and the effectiveness of the vacc is not going to as good .. The 'tale of the tape' (aka "science") thus far is that the existing vacc's are working pretty well on the Delta keeping those out of hospitals.. Yep - many of the vaccinated are getting it (100 - 95 = 5%), but even so it's no big deal..

The more pressing & vexing problem is that the anti vaccers are cloggng up the hospitals, and those with other (non-covid) issues are also paying the price - which is why the vaccinated are quickly loosing patienc and demanding that the anti vaccers literally 'pay a price'.. At least the unvaccinated are the ones bearing the brunt of this with their stupidity - Darwin still hard at work..

Just heard that my wife's cousin who has been struggling for the last few weeks can not get back into the hospital in O'town - 'no room left at the inn'.. Not surprising.. Paul is finally starting to pay for Paul's stupidity..

Eventually there will be a strain that we will have to develop new vacc's for - hopefully they will not take as long as the initial batch to get into arms and we can modify our production facilities..

Old people, medical personnel people with health problems usually decide to get the Shot,
