It couldn't be multi-millionaire Dem leaders like Pelosi doing things like showing off her luxury Subzero fridge and stash of artisanal ice cream during a pandemic. Nah, must be the kids.
But seriously, the bottom line is that the Dems seldom follow through with meaningful action to improve the material conditions of working people. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system. Some good points, but then again Biden won comfortably against the strongest Republican candidate in a generation. Democrats also hold the House and the Senate.

Then, on the other hand, I read somewhere that a college professor was recently suspended because he was not grading "minority" students leniently enough!!??
Ya, ya, ya, don't dare to say a word but, I thought that the good old "bell curve" was legit. ------------------------- Dora Hates You |

>>At its most basic, Shor's theory goes something like this: Although young people as a whole turn out to vote at a lower rate than the general population, the aforementioned type of young person is actually overrepresented within the core of the Democratic Party's infrastructure. According to Shor, the problem with this permanent class of young staffers is that they tend to hold views that are both more liberal and more ideologically motivated than the views of the coveted median voter, and yet they yield a significant amount of influence over the party's messaging and policy decisions. As a result, Democrats end up spending a lot of time talking about issues that matter to college-educated liberals but not to the multiracial bloc of moderate voters that the party needs to win over to secure governing majorities in Washington.
I see this as a valid criticism. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." Noam Chomsky. |

When you look at a map of the US with % of educated people in the population - by Univ grads, years high school etc etc - regardless of the source - it's telling of the politics leanings - and of the wealth... Google it yourself - and the results are what you would expect..

That is a valid point Johnny; it's the Bernie Bros syndrome. It's also an issue with AOC; all Left or nothing is failed politics and will have dire consequences to the Democratic party. You get what you can by playing the game and not by taking your ball and going home.

That is a valid point Johnny; it's the Bernie Bros syndrome. It's also an issue with AOC; all Left or nothing is failed politics and will have dire consequences to the Democratic party. You get what you can by playing the game and not by taking your ball and going home. What you guys call "all left" is center-mainstream in most other developed countries. What's failed politics is pandering to the center left, while serving the donor class; every time hoping the center left and the black community will bail you out in November. I don't think it's going to go well next year. But then again, without Congress, the Dems can just shrug their shoulders and say "see we can't do anything" and hope trump is on the menu in 24 so they can insist everyone vote for them again to save the world. ------------------------- Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.
