Energy independent? Uh, we became a net exporter of gasoline while Obama was still in office and Natural Gas production also peaked then. You seem to think that nitwits like Mage Green, Madison Cawthorn, and Trump are the answer to the political establishment. Meanwhile McConnell is still the one really in charge of GOP matters. Not sure what you consider to be a "somewhat stable Middle East" either. Nothing has changed there in decades. I grew up listening to news about hostages in Iran and bombings in Beruit. We should probably just turn everything from Crete to Kashmir into glass and be done with it. whatever your saying doesn't translate to the record high gas prices we're now seeing at the pump, (which we're supposed to believe has nothing to do with Uncle Joe killing the pipeline, and OPEC laughing in his face?). Also, can you remind me of what new conflicts emerged in the Middle East under Trump? By the way, the only "answer" now to the political environment is unification of the populace against the establishment (that's so hell bent on keeping it divided) and complete non-compliance to the BS getting shoved down our throats. Increase gasoline taxes; or 3). Engage in a war in the Middle East. For those who insisted that Biden's actions had quickly driven up gasoline prices, I asked them to explain. They would respond that these moves could eventually restrict oil supplies. True, but not for years. Keystone XL might have impacted oil supplies a decade from now. The oil markets don't react in real time to events like this." A very clear majority of Americans agree to many things - especially when it comes to very strict gun control, abortion rights, 'medicare for all' (aka 'socialised medicine'), weed legalization, etc etc etc - and way way more than 62%..
See that SCOTUS seems to have their own agenda - time to put them in their place...

The US has 111 oil pipelines and 25 more are in the works. Do you really think one designed for Canadian tar-sand oil makes a difference?
Not to mention the cost of refining said tar-sands. The last I heard the price per barrel has to be near $80 for it to be profitable. Did you know the pipeline routes through Canada were blocked by Canadians? Canada doesn't want the nasty shit crossing their land, but it's fine for the US?
