The fixation is on why everyone who suggested that Covid could have escaped from the Wuhan lab was attacked so viciously, when everyone knew it was the most likely scenario. That led to people asking why. I think it was clear that Fauci and many around him went on a massive disinformation/smear campaign to prevent this from coming to light.

If Fauci and the NIH went around the U.S. ban on gain of function research and used our money for research that eventually got us where we are today with Covid, then lied about it repeatedly for over a year to the American people and to Congress, you just don't think that is a big deal? You guys sure as shit thought it was a HUGE deal that Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn may have done some work for foreign countries and failed to register those engagements with the U.S. government. How many million people died as a result of Manafort and Flynn failing to register their business dealings?

There's no evidence that anyone at NIH or Fauci himself intentionally went around the ban, or that they had any knowledge that one grantee may have crossed a line 10 years ago, or that COVID-19 originated from any research we funded through the NIH.
