By 2050 for all manufacturing here is the criteria being set forth:

- 100% global sourcing of sustainable or certified wood
- Zero greenhouse gasses
- Zero waste going to landfills
- 100% use of recycled products used.

This will be the governing criteria employed by the banking industry for loans/financial dealings

To the simple minded that see nothing but unicorn and rainbows, this sounds awesome!!!!

To the realists that are involved with manufacturing, have experienced the "extortion" by paying fines to allow you to miss these marks, know this is going to be a disaster and will usher in more corruption/government control at the expense of us common folk.

Unfortunately, the children who still believe in rainbow farting unicorns will not hear what the experienced realists already know and there will be no unified front against this blatant attempt (seems to be the pattern with most "topics" these days, huh?).

Sure glad that I have a farm and can grow my own food. Doubt that there has ever been a dumber group of humans than these people. They think that they will be immune from the consequences. But they will not be.

Let's just keep pretending 8 billion and growing can continue with reckless business as usual.

That would ALSO be stupid. Why is choice only on extreme ends of the spectrum for you?

And the fact you think these initiatives are being put in place, because our overlords care about the environment........is rather.....cute, 3rdworld

It's part of an evil plot called wokeism.
I get it.
Virtue and values get in the way of quick and dirty dollars.

Well Rhonda wants the State retirement money pulled out of BlackRock because they use ESG and might be "woke". I guess the culture war is more important that the fact that ESG funds tend to perform better than non-ESG, and if you're strictly a capitalist, ESG is being promoted as a risk management strategy for long term investments.

Remember when they said the free market would fix it?
Talk about virtue-signaling and cancel culture...

No they don't. Worse, and the fees are much higher. Basically a scam for the brokerage firms.

"A recent Bloomberg News report cited a Morningstar Inc. study that said over the past five years U.S. ESG funds with a capitalization of $10 billion or more that focused on growth averaged an annual return of 14% while conventional non-ESG funds grew 11% a year."

"ESG - when done for real - is first and foremost a risk-management tool. Politicians run for four years, maybe eight. But pension money is very long-term."

Here what you guys seem to not understand/get. "Wokeism" is a means to control and censure. That is it. It has nothing to do with the virtues you are being sold.

Its like you guys don't know your history.........

History favors the woke over the narrow minded bigotry aligned against it.

Why would you not want a cleaner world?

And it's called politics. Aim for Mars, but be content when you get to the moon. Dope.
