You wanna hear a little story of how it all began? Once upon a time, there was a man named Ronald Reagan. He was known as the "Great Communicator" because he was good at spinning words.

"He was a failing actor who decided to run for president. His campaign slogan in 1980 was "Let's Make America Great Again" and he won. Yeah, it was Reagan first.

Before Reagan was elected, the very wealthy paid 70% in taxes. He was so good at spinning words that he convinced the poor people of America that the rich needed to pay less in taxes. So he lowered it to 28%. He said this would create more jobs and opportunities for the poor - "Trickle Down."

Upon seeing his blunder in loss of tax revenues, in 1984, he decided to tax social security to make up some of the lost tax revenue.

He wanted to end welfare and Medicare, saying, "Let's send those bums back to work (meaning blacks)." Americans (many) were like, hell yeah, I'm cool with that!!!

But, "Reaganomics" never worked. It didn't work then, and it doesn't work today. Oh, I forgot to mention how much he hated Unions and dismantled many of them.

His biggest achievement was separating the races and convincing poor people that the rich needed more. End of story?"

He cut, then raised more taxes than all before him.

Remember when he tossed the mentally ill into the streets?

Everybody should pay the same tax rate with no 'deductions', other than for children. Period.

Perhaps just a simple 'head tax'? Ya, ya, I know and I get it but, the current IRS setup is smeared thick with Bull Shit.

Ronny Raised taxes 26 times. I do think The Rapist party has finally slipped away from the magical unicorn memories they have of Reagan. They now have their false prophet and savior in the Orange Lard.
Reagan sold the country Cadillacs, this Carny is selling Yugo's and the Rapist party is lapping up like Bobbert on date to children theater.

Why should income from actual work be taxed higher than passive income gained from investments?

The end point in all this is a neo-feudal society, which should set the stage for the inevitable revolutionary phase to follow.

Or the robots will kill us all. One or the other I expect.

Exactly. Not to mention poll taxes never work. The bum in the street pays the same as the man with the gold toilet. Historically speaking, the people don't really care for that too much.

Yes, after Reagan's election, everyone yearned for the return of the Carter years. You are an imbicile or, to give you the benefit of the doubt, senile.

Carter was pretty good. Yes, he had issues with what the Republicans left him, but the rest was pretty sound. And let's not forget that Reagan handed Bush I a recession.

The Carter years were good for Union workers. Had they known what would come of it, they would have burned Reagan in effigy.

I repeat, progs love failure. What stronger proof do you need beyond the previous two posts. Next thing you know they will be claiming that Dementia Joe should be on Mt. Rushmore.

A forty year decline in the middle class can be traced right to Reagan's presidency. There's no greater failure in the history of the United States, and it will ultimately be it's undoing.

I don't see how any government can justify a tax rate that high.

It's a marginal rate.

"In 1980 Ronald Reagan was elected and promised to cut the top marginal tax rate. This he did, and the top marginal tax rate was lowered over his 8 years in office from 73% to 28% on incomes over just $29,750 - the lowest this rate had been since 1925."

Revision by MAGA will not stand.

You just can't convince Americans that a $2000 increase in taxes for a national health system is better than $5000 spent on private insurance that is designed to prevent them from using it.

No you can't. We all remember the Clown Care promises, none of which turned out to be true. Well, you could convince progs but I don't consider them Americans.
