Musk has talked of it for months and has been put in the position to make it happen. Do Trump voters not understand what it means or does the Right media not report on it?

They'll blame it on immigrants or trans-women, and their slack jaw viewers will hoot in approval.

If Trump materially reduces the size of the federal gov't, I sure as hell will be hooting with approval.

You guys remind me regularly that you don't know jack shit about how our government works. Elon and Vivek haven't been given the power to cut anything. They have been given the power to make recommendations to the House, which if passed, go to the Senate for approval or denial. The Senate has a history of being fiercely independent. Nothing the House passes can be guaranteed to pass the Senate.

But by all means, carry on freaking out about them recommending cutting our tax dollars funding research about transgendered lobsters or some other stupid shit that will never do anyone any good.

Hey, as long as it doesn't affect you, I'm sure you'd like to cut everything. I get it.

But a whole lot of poor fuckers voted for what's coming with no earthly idea what it will mean for them. May they enjoy the full measure of their mistake.

If you are thinking that they are going in to recommend slashing social programs, then I'm pretty sure you will be wrong, unless that means cutting the number of bureacrats needed for the system to function. Even if they do recommend it, then it has to pass through the House and Senate, which is highly unlikely.

When Musk went in and cut over 70% of the useless people at Twitter, everyone said the world was ending and it seems to be functioning just fine.

Ah, the old Republican voters are dumb trope. That's rather rich coming from someone who voted for a senile candidate and followed that up with a vote for a ditz.

I cast a vote for "no harm". Instead, a majority of voters chose harm.

I am in favor of them getting everything they asked for. Elections have consequences.

Voting for a senile president is "no harm?" That didn't work out well, nor would any sentient person think it would have.

It wasn't my preference; but in this case, senile was in fact harmless. But the people want harm. Give them the harm they have asked for, I say.

Efficiency
The guy fighting in court for his $50 billion dollar take from a heavily taxpayer subsidized corporation is going to be in charge of efficiency.

Everyone was cool with that deal when they thought the goal was so lofty that he would never make it. He met his end of the bargain, so pay the man.

Lets look no further than the IRS. The republicans want to cut its staff and prevent it from functioning in the efficiency, completely forgetting that fewer employees meant refund checks to the middle and lower class took longer, no answered the phone and inquiries went unanswered. Nevermind that the most people who don't cheat on their taxes and a study proved that more IRS agents meant more revenues collected and the additions in staff more than paid for themselves with exponential increases in revenue. I guess the problem is that adults are using taxes to finance their government and Republicans and holding it back to starve off the government.

Then why bother in the first place? Seems like a waste of effort and money.

What will you say if the cuts to work-a-day Americans do go through? I'm guessing you will agree and then make some excuse as to why it is a good thing.
