Florida debates lifting some child labor laws to fill jobs vacated by undocumented immigrants


Florida has been working for years to crack down on employers that hire undocumented immigrants. But that presented a problem for businesses in the state that are desperate for workers to fill low-wage and often undesirable jobs.

Florida's Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state legislature have a potential solution: children.

The state's legislature on Tuesday advanced a bill that would loosen child labor laws, allowing children as young as 14 years old to work overnight shifts.

Come on, people are tired of all these freeloading kids with their demands for free lunch and free education. The world, or at least the world the GOP represents, needs more unskilled low paid labor and if they cannot use illegals, they will use kids. Not their own kids of course, but poor kids, and they will slot them into a lifetime of low wage jobs because they will lose the opportunity to get educated.

Children, what a stupid fucking idea. Enough of the bullshit, vote Blue. We will use Congress to make actual immigration legislation and not rely on 14 years to work the fields on the graveyard shift. We need immigrant workers. We have been saying it for years. Elect people who will listen.
