I grew up having Jesus shoved down my throat. Certainly, some of the bible stuff makes sense. (Like 10 commandments) (That shall not kill thing, guess that is optional, in the history of the world a shit ton bunch of people have been killed in the name of Christianity)
But the real mystery is: who was Jesus? Every picture I ever saw of Jesus he was a blue-eyed Caucasian. How is that possible? Well, it's not possible. So, if that is a lie, how can anything else about Christianity be true? Fits with tRump perfectly. The lying that is. ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. The non-human visitors have told us that Earth's civilization is primitive because we still hold beliefs in magic and supernatural beings. And they are quite right. If you need Sky Daddy to make you not be a shitty person, then in actuality, you're a shitty person. ------------------------- "Are you a Communist?" "No I am an anti-fascist." "For a long time?" "Jesus's original name was Yeshua (or Yehoshua), a common Hebrew name, and "Christ" was a title meaning "anointed one". The name "Jesus" is the English version, which developed through Greek (I?sous) and Latin translations of the original Hebrew and Aramaic name. "
Damn, the dude's name was not Jesus???!!! ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. Jesus was not an author. He wrote nothing. Why? You guessed it, because he knew once you codified your thoughts and works you quit living by example and lost your humility. The Jesus the alleged Christians seek to indoctrinate you is to create a homogeneous culture that can be manipulated and directed for political gain. It was inevitable that a great and spiritual man that was killed for his beliefs would be written about, adored and opportunistically used after his death by the very power he condemned. That extraordinary person who refused to write anything for fear that it would dilute his life as an example then had everything about written by his closest friends. Of course, they didn't seek power and dominion through a religion, they just didn't want this extraordinarily brilliant and spiritual person lost to history. Human nature flowered in those gospels, the same way it has for every extraordinarily spiritual human, most notably Socrates (also killed by his own for "corrupting the youth" against the powers of his time). Jesus had the apostles and Socrates had Plato who then had Aristotle. These great examples of humanity were then written down. Men studied them instead of emulating their lives by living their works and beliefs. Tribes were formed. Hierarchies were established, monies were collected, buildings, amazing buildings were built man's darker side, the lure of power, prestige and possessions snuck in and wore the facade of humility. Wash, rinse, repeat. We never make any progress toward a greater understanding or actualization, the most we can hope for is that we are honest with ourselves and others and once you can do that you can treat others like you want and deserve to be treated.

I think spirituality is as much a part of human nature as corruption. It's part of our broken nature. We do our best work as humans when we empathize and recognize there is still greatness in our broken selves. We do our worst in tribal exclusion and petty selfishness. It's a huge undertaking but if you ever read War and Peace, it's goddamn bloody brilliant. Its thesis is that there is no such thing as progress. No matter how far humanity gets, it's still the same choices on an individual and collective level. Tolstoy believed that he could prove this with War and Peace. He believed that there were two ways to tell a story, one is by telling the story of an individual and seeing his world as a result. The other was by telling the story of his world and him by extension. The subset of this was to put an ordinary man in extraordinary circumstances or an extraordinary man in ordinary circumstances. Tolstoy did the impossible and did all of that. That's why it's huge novel but it is so very good, profound, clever, deep and brilliant. You can't read it and not see how he proves his thesis. I highly recommend.
