Paddled fridays beers off for a little bit near my house .... All the rain has made the water color too dirty to "sight fish".. aside from throwin on boils. I tossed lures (slayer paddle tail to create some thump in the low viz) around some oyster bars. Missed a few flounder (grub tails bit off)... .... But landed one fish. it was worthy. . . 26"

The redfish? saw some boils around the oysters, and tossed just outside.... he was in attack mode (and fought like it). but yeah, with the slayers, I usually use a slow steady retrieve with a periodic "jerk and fall" This was in about 18" of water tops..... pretty fun. Attacked it like a snook and went on 3 runs (10# line)..... with the flounder, Ive been doing best with a small jighead and a rootbeer / chartreuse tail doa grub. SLOW jig and retrieve.... with some occasional fast twitches to try and wake em up.

It was a bit of a rodeo.... about a mile + offshore. Lures were getting smashed non-stop. Missed plenty of fish. Having a double knockdown with 2 lines screaming in a kayak was interesting to say the least. If the sharks didnt waste too much of my time who knows what could've been. Most fish were on a brand new Yo-zuri deep diver, so I didnt want to cut it off everytime. Think looks battle scarred now..... I think I'm going to rig the hooks suspended from wire / light cable next time, so I can just snip that off and keep the plug....... 5-6" soft plastic swim baits always the first to get hit, but also cut in half behind hook

I swap the trebles with inline single hooks. They still have a solid hook up ratio, but are a hell of a lot easier to deal with.
