Much of the rest of the peninsula is even drier. I think my lawn needs to hibernate until rainy season sets in. Meanwhile, need to pressure wash the house, walkways, driveway.

The best rain chances across the local waters
are focused on this weekend as the front moves closer to the area,
with PoPs rising into the 30 to 50 percent range.

Monday:

A marginal risk for severe storms exists today, including the potential for gusty winds, hail, and even a tornado or two. The risk for strong to severe storms will mainly focus across the I-4 corridor southward, and highest coverage and intensity after 3 PM through approximately 10 PM tonight.

Traffic signals knocked out on US 1 north of Fort Pierce, finally some rain in Vero. Surprising number of dropped palm leaves in the yard. One palm, planted 19 years ago, has just started producing inflorescences, or at least trial versions.

That rain was suppose to hit Brevard County. 80 percent chance and all kind of weather warnings. It went South instead and we got NADA...NO RAIN FOR ME....ugh...

They really had me hyped my yard was going to see rain yesterday. I was preparing for all day with position rain buckets and using up what little captured rain I had on the newly planted fruit trees.
Got burned once again. Watching the radar all afternoon including the weather dot com future radar and it did look like a given that Brevard was going to get it and get it good...yet,the weather that
was forecasted shifted South instead. Bleh...Maybe I cursed it by wanting it so bad.

The NWS Melbourne weather discussion reads like the rainy season is going to kick in on Wednesday with high chances of daily afternoon thunderstorms...

Yet, I look at the Month we are currently in -> May <- and climatology says nada...No Rain for you Two Months.

(Level 1 of 5) for severe weather across portions of east

localized urban and poor drainage flooding will increase through

I watered the yard last night out of frustration over the lack of rain.

I got another 1/8th an inch on Thursday evening. Enough to barely keep the newly planted Jaboticaba and other plants that absolutely cannot survive this drought a little wet. Hanging on by a dare thread. Weather people promising more rain coming. Knock on wood...

Friday discussion:

- Unsettled weather persists through early next week as unusually
high moisture remains locked over Florida. There remains a low
chance of a few strong to severe storms, and the risk for some
flooding from excessive rainfall increases by Monday and early
Tuesday.
