Google Explore Flights to Hawaii. I caught a low one to the Big Island, so hope to see lava. The native trees are suffering disease, so forests are more or less off limits. Also look at Explore Flights from MCO to Iceland. $523 all summer. Explore Flights should get you real fares to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne under $1300 (very good) and Auckland under $1200. There's good winter surfing on Auckland's west coast, although no really great breaks (Raglan for that, potentially with a crowd). But you need a car and/or maybe need to find a beach house to rent. For Australia and NZ fares, try to book by end of day, March 1. A Qantas sale is very brief. I'm a fan of Air New Zealand. They're pretty good at making long flights tolerable.
