Left early Friday am with the intentions of Tuna Fishing on the other side. As usual NOAA was wrong and it got nasty. We went to the edge to see how rough it would be with the NW wind against the GS and the 4ft standing waves didn't look appealing to run in for the next 50miles. The edge had the craziest color change I've ever seen in Central FL.
The picture doesn't do it justice. Fished the color change and put a 20lb dolphin in the boat within 5 minutes. We only had a dozen ballyhoo and boated 10 fish all gaffing size and two near 40lbs. Then it lay down and we started for the other side. 50 miles out the radar took a dive and we spent the next 45 minutes tinkering with no luck. Saw a bird fly by and followed him to birds feeding. The first pull by we hooked a little skipjack and on the third pass picked up the yellow fin. Then the birds went high and we decided to call it a day. ------------------------- I was right. |
