Trump losing would look like making up crazy Russian conspiracy theories as an excuse for his loss.

So far as what he is getting accomplished as president (as opposed to a loser crybaby), he got Gorsuch appointed as Supreme Court justice. That was the most critical thing at stake in the election. If he does nothing other than that, I will consider his presidency a success.

He was angling for that throughout the election with his "rigged" accusations. He had the inside information from the horses mouth that they had been monkeying around in a few voting systems.

If he had lost then Bannon up to try to make those hacks look like DNC had broken into the system and changed votes. That's the whole of the conspiracy theory is that the Russians were trying to deligitimize the process. My personal theory is that Bannon's desires overlapped the Ruskies. He may not have the same end goal as they but he wants to wreck the government any way he can and the enemy of his enemy is his friend.

Now the downward spiral will come from within the GOP. Mitch the human tortoise McConnell, the master legislator, just had his biggest political defeat of his career handed to him and Trump said that he does not own the failure. Both have tried to blame the democrats but that is bit hard to swallow when the GOP controls the Senate, the House and the Executive branch. How do you spin this failure as winning? How can you expect Obamacare to fail where it has succeeded in states where it was nurtured. In red states, the sabotage of Obamacare was successful and its being used to prove that Obamacare was a failure despite the proof that it succeeded in providing millions of insurance in States where it was embraced. Everything about the GOP points to internal dysfunction and discord. Now that McConnell has been handed his signature loss, he will be vulnerable. He will be angry at Trump's blame game and he will be forced to explain how the tax cuts for the rich are the next big goal.

Tpap is being realistic. It will probably go down as Trump's only accomplishment. Gorsuch is more idealist than academic. They want more of his kind so that Pale, male and stale can flex. The question is whether Trump will last in the office longer than Ginsberg or Kennedy.
