There was an amazing pic posted on surfline I think. It was a shot of Ponce inlet during one of the hurricane swells. I think it was taken from the lighthouse. Perfect large point break looking shot. I can't seem to find it. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Hurricane Bill, I know the shot was in transworld mag.I'm thinking that was 2008 season? A quick internet search will confirm the season.

Good picture but that's not the one lunchmeat is referring to. The picture is the single best picture of florida surf I have ever seen. It was taken from up in the lighthouse.

First hit on google. I know it's not the one though. I remember the other one having more line.

I don't know if you can search this forum that far back but I made a thread about Hurricane Bill with some pictures I took and I think the picture you want was posted in that thread by someone else. It is an amazing picture and looks more like Australia than Florida. I remember parking not too far from the Lighthouse that day and thinking it would make a nice vantage place for a shot but I couldn't keep myself from running towards the beach instead. After seeing that pic I knew I blew it.

That's the only photo on my refrigerator. Thought about surfing Ponce that day but surfed Baitrunner's instead. Regret.

Hurricane Bill. It stands out as one of the cleanest big days Ive ever had there (Ponce is my home spot to surf 98% of the time). Lots of people where lined up on the jetty and beach watching and a bunch of people where getting denied on the paddle out too. Parking was insane...people were just everywhere.

I didnt even surf first peak and it was huge. Lets hope to see another day like this for this hurricane season.....

That is beautiful... I can't wait for hurricane season (as long as they stay about 200 miles off shore and we can get favorable winds!).

Who remebers halloween of 91 at Pouce?  See the channel buoy?  Waves were breaking on it and the next day it was in the inlet.   It was clean that day too, but pretty sketchy with big currents running.  I almost lost my jeep that day because I stayed out too long as the tide came in.  I had to back into the dunes and exit by way of the lighthouse.  A pitty that I never saw a single pic from that day ay Pouce.  So post em if you got em.

Bill is certainly the 2nd best day I've ever seen Pounce and was much more makable.  Its a shame it doesn't turn on more often.

Yeah those were the two pictures that stick out in my mind. All time, and a great swell.
There were pictures of Eric Gieselman on the right inside the inlet from that day as well that were really good.

I stopped at ponce and decided to go north to get away from the crowds. Ponce was an absolute zoo that day, and when I looked at it in the morning it didn't look like the pictures. Ended up less than 100 miles north scoring perfect bombs with a fraction of the crowd.

Bethune was going off that day with not too many people out. One of the top 5 days I've ever surfed in FL!

I think that last pic was the one I was looking for. Glad I could stir up a little pre-season stoke. Can i find that pic hi def?

For those of us that have grown up surfing Ponce this photo is magic. It looks like lowers has come to FL.

I'm PRAYING FOR THAT DAY LETS ALL PRAY TOGETHER BECAUSE I SURFED MONSTER HOLE IN MELBOURNE BEACH AND WAS OK BUT MY BUDDIES WENT TO PONCE AND HAVE NEVER QUIT REMINDING ME CAUSE IT WAS MY IDEA AND I DIDN'T GO SECOND GUESSING I LOVE THAT WAVE WHEN OVERHEAD PERHAPS THE BEST RIGHT IN FLORIDA IF NOT THE BEST!!!
