The perks of being Hispanic - blending in wherever you surf on trips. I actually had other travelers yield to me because they think I'm a local, it's awesome haha

the people there are dicks honestly.... lots of petty crime too aka busted windows in cars... too many kook boogie boarders too you can have the "isla encanto" there's better places with nicer people and better waves and less sea urchins

one of my favorites was when dudes from Norfolk tried to pull local status on us at the jetties at Hatteras

At Jobos a few years ago and saw a surf instructor paddle out from a distance with an ankle leash on BOTH legs. The wife ask me and I just guess he is helping the student get outside. Later I realize it's a ankle monitor. Big dude. I stay clear.
