I had a G&S rocket with clay wheels and ball bearings. I got my proline after that. The first polyurethane wheels were called Cadillac wheels. Still ball bearings. I have one unused.

There was a hill north of Tally off of Old Thomasville Road that was beng 'developed' and all of its road were freshly and smoothly paved. Lots of very nice carving.

The main drop was back down to highway level. The first time I ran it, I got to the bottom and was thinking about just how F'n fast I had went when, , , , when one of the young kids says: "Hey mister, your wheels are smoking"!! We used a paraffin based spray lube and it was burned to a crisp with the balls and races burned black.

A kid with money up the hill got a Hobie with OJ's and sealed bearings. That's when I learned it was possible to fall in love with inanimate objects.
