The real science demonstrated that a genetically modified version of the virus was created and used to treat cancer. Notice the Republican comprehension of the science here. They think that being infected with Measles cures and/or prevents cancer.

Measles was used because it is ready made machinery for invading a cell. It had to be modified so it would not damage healthy cells. But hey, go ahead and pump yourself full of live virus if you get cancer. Just do us a favor and stay quarranteened so you do not kill some poor immunocompromised person with leukemia or such.
