Hey everyone, I'm curious about Vero's South Beach. Last week I was driving home to Gainesville after visiting family and friends in South Florida. As I usually do, I traveled up A1A to do surf checks. I've stopped at the two other areas in Vero before, but never South Beach. I saw the signs that said "No surfing." All that was happening there was shorebreak anyway but I did see a peak breaking on the outside maybe 50 to 75 yards north. I didn't paddle out because the conditions were not good and I had just spent an hour or so in pretty good surf at Fort Pierce Inlet State Park. But for future reference -- because I enjoy checking out new spots -- is the northern peak the spot that people refer to when surfing South Beach? And if it does break on the outside by the parking lot, is the "No surfing" ban strictly enforced? |
