The beginning of the end for Brevard was a long time ago, anyone born and raised here has been hanging on for the ride thinking if Vermont had waves and wasn't so darn cold id buy a cabin and get the fck out of this once paradise now turned overpopulated hell hole. I never thought it would happen here until it did. I swear the boat ramps also are full of ding dongs launching their boat for the first and last time. I was born here in the 80s and I couldn't agree more. For me its the amount of people on the road and in the stores or at local events. Like someone else said there is no sense of community anymore. It was never a small town in my years but it was definitely a better community. On any given day there used to be 5-10 people walking the Melbourne causeway in the morning. Now there are 30 to 50! Its wild. Twice a year my wife and I discuss selling the business and moving the heck out of here. Hardest part is uprooting the kids and finding a new job. I don't post much anymore but this one had me fired up for a second. |

today will be so much better than 20 years from now. How many cycles of a red light do we have to wait through, maybe one cycle at a few intersections? Cherish the fact this is NOT California where you have to wait for one car to leave the beach before they let another car into the lot like San 'O. Take a drive down Jungle trail, it's still remote feeling. Go to the secret MotoX-4x4 spot behind "**********" and you will feel as if you ae in the middle of the country when you are actually on middle of mlb can't stop what's happening but you can hold onto little gems.
There are some other cool spots to mention that are not ruined yet. There has been one positive, skateparks are popping up everywhere, I'm going to the spots that make life here mellow..like this area...quik vid of SurferMic NOT surfing... Moto X Fun in the middle of MLB It's just as much fun today! The end of the vid gives a hint where you access it...also still hit up the Compound in PB, some of Brevard IS frozen in time

The onetime bass fishing inland folk have converted to salt. I can't say I blame them, but it is annoying. Red snapper season has gotten hilarious; 30 boats doing the Keystone Cops on a patch of reef. I agree with Mic that Brevard still has some merits, but without some sort of sane growth plan, it won't last long. ------------------------- I was right. |

Melboring is gone, a memory, Projects coming...Right past the I95, Brevard County has approved a Hard Rock Casino and Tanger Outlet Mall along Eau Gallie Blvd???...Margaritaville MLB - A site plan featuring a seven-story, 146-room resort hotel; a two-story restaurant building with 400 seats; a marina with 221 boat slips; a 14,000-square-foot event lawn with stage; a four-level parking garage; and a public boardwalk (200+ more boats in the IRL???).....Lakoona Beach - The Melbourne Airport Authority approved the $8.9 million sale of 55 acres of land for the project, which is space currently owned by Melbourne-Orlando International Airport. In addition to the man-made beach, developer Adelon Capital said the company will also build hundreds of apartments, restaurants and shopping off NASA Boulevard and Broadband Drive.....It's about to get worse much worse very soon...maybe time for some to pack up and move to "Insert name of a sleepy FL beach town w/ surf and warm water" (I know one but will keep it on the DL)

I work around the corner and see that all the entrances are all buttoned up. From what I understand only a couple people have a key to access it legally now a days. But my friend says some enduro riders still sneak out and hit some trails..... Looks like it might be you! haha. I have always had these thoughts in my head over the last few years but reading these similar opinions is an eye opener to me. Watching this town turn into this is depressing. Its also sad to think about moving. Anyone have experience operating a brick and mortar business from out of state? I only know how to be here everyday and oversee operations. |
