And they are are considered a "social democratic" party, so not even hard left. Real left are the communist parties, like the Russian communist party headed by Zyuganov.

Interesting you bring up the Allegory of the Cave. Would not the constant onslaught of propaganda that is going on in this country be considered "the cave?" We have devolved into "I agree with the narrative and your stupid if you don't" type atmosphere. On one side, you have the sheep swallowing it all whole heartedly, and the other side is critical/skeptical of the narrative, because they know you can't trust the media or government. Then, instead of debating the "whys". you're left with childish antics (this forum is a classic example). So tell me Rusty, since the Media, Hollywood, YouTube, Facebook, etc our pretty much our only source of content...ie, "The Cave"....and you're lock step with their constant narrative....who is the one really stuck in the cave? (and by the way, you can't cite and example from another country and somehow apply it here. The Left has gone bat-shit-crazy and is becoming more and more of a socialist party. Guess what socialism leads too....communism. (but you already know that, and unless I am mistaken...you are actually welcoming it).
