Marjorie Taylor Green and Trump are taking time off from each other. This isn't MTG coming to her senses or deciding that some issues are non-negotiable, this is pivot with the full recognition that Trump is leaving in three years and when he goes, Trumpism goes with him. It was always hard to define what beliefs or core principles comprised Trumpism because it changed with Trump's feelings on every news cycle. This second term has produced some serious flops and terrible decisions that will explode after he's gone and the same people that passed their loyalty tests at the beginning of his term will be scrambling to establish that their views "have evolved" once Trump's sun has set. MTG is just ahead of the game here.

She's probably positioning herself to be the person after Trump, speaking of the unfulfilled promises that she can make good on once he's gone. She can claim her moral fiber forced her to confront and break with trump and that same moral fiber should propel her to lead MAGA 3.0. Its all absurd, she's just another charlatan who yelled at the kids from Colombine for trying to bring background checks, yelled at Biden during a state of the Union address "you lie" while wearing a denim red white and blue trump outfit and has demonstrated her persistent ignorance of the facts and law at every opportunity.

But Marj is practical. She makes $174K a year as a member of congress. That doesn't include those hot stock tips that make them all millionaires. She is also, quite surprisingly, the highest grossing author in Congress at $172K last year. When she joined Congress in 2021, her net worth was 700K. Today? 25 million. She's lodged over 450 stock trades and bet big on Trump stocks. What happens if the Trump world and Magat's excrete her, now that she's no longer in lock step? She's about to find out but she's making this pivot now to stay in her position and she will fight like hell for it.
