I heard we are in a La Nina pattern this year, which means we're supposed to be dry. So what's up with all the rain? This winter seems wetter than normal. ------------------------- @surferscomposition Daily (sort of) video reports in my IG stories |

I haven't paying too much attention but it does seem we have had a wetter than normal winter. I like it though.

Weather forecasting...... a job where if it you predict wrong....you still get paid and keep your job.
After 5 days....most forecast are 99.9% wrong....much less forecasting a weather pattern for several months out. ------------------------- Waiting for waves is ok......most people spend their lives waiting for nothing. |

For the weather station at Melbourne Airport. December was much warmer than average. 1.07" of rain was recorded which was 1.50" below average. That is drier than average but within the range of what I consider "normal" for our area since it is within a standard devaition or so of the average. January numbers will probably be posted tomorrow. It will come in cooler than average with rain accumulation pretty close to average. We have gotten rain with a couple of the fronts but a few fronts have also come through completely dry. The St. Johns has been dropping steadily and IRL is low as typical of dry season conditions. ------------------------- ... |

For December straight from the NWS F-6, we were 1.50" below normal rain. For January we were 0.66" above normal. So far in Feb we are below normal. Temps are near normal but are just slightly above normal. Therefore, this winter has been drier than normal, consistent with LN.

Based on that toxic bloom we had two years ago in winter we want normal and below rain |
